【すぐには思い出せない】
ネット検索していたら、偶然見つけたのが以下のページだった。

これはなにかというと、カーラーコードである。抵抗やコンデンサなどの値を色で表している。いわば、色数字である。
例えば、赤は２を意味し、抵抗器の外側に線が３つ、”赤・赤・赤”とあれば、２２２となる。３番目の２は１０の２乗を意味するので、つまりは ２２００Ω ということである。
むかし、回路設計していたころは部品を手にとって見ただけで読み取っていたのだがいまはどうだろうか、語呂合わせを思い出したので記憶をたどってみた。
０（黒）： 黒い礼服（レイふく）
１（茶）： お茶を一杯（イッぱい）
２（赤）： 赤い人参（ニんじん）
３（橙）： ・・・忘却のかなた・・・

I have read an article about Parkinson's disease in VOA news site. My father had ever suffered from this disease.
The essentials are as follows.
Parkinson's is a disease of the central nervous system. It is a progressive disorder. The disease affects a small area of cells in the middle of the brain. The cells slowly lose their ability to produce a chemical substance called dopamine.
I just have a pain in my nervous system, so the rest is omitted.
I have read an article about Parkinson's disease in VOA news site. My father had ever suffered from this disease.

「タグチメソッド入門 立林和夫著 日経文庫1197 \1000+税」という本を読んでいます。
面白い話があったのでご紹介と自分のためのメモとして書いておきます。面白い話とは、エレベータを昇降させるワイヤロープの強度はどのくらいの余裕があればいいかという問題です。あまり大きな余裕をもたせれば材料費が高くなる。余裕が少ないと切れて損害賠償金を支払うことになる。さあ、どれくらいにするかという問題です。
【背景１ 図Ⅳ-8 本書120ページ】
市場での品質損失は、狙い値 y0 からのずれが大きくなるにしたがって大きくなっていく。一方、工場での製造コストは、狙い値 y0 からのずれΔが大きくなるにしたがって不良率が減少するために小さくなっていく。
【背景２ 表Ⅳ-8 本書119ページ】
製品の特性が市場で狙い値 y0 からΔ0だけずれた時に品質問題が発生してA0円の損失が発生したとすると、(1)式のように表せる。
一方、その製品を作るうえで、製品許容差を外れたときに、原価、廃棄あるいは操業損などで A 円の費用がメーカ側で発生するとしたら、メーカ側のコスト（損失）は、１個当たり (3) 式のようになる。

日本ではミツバチが大量死して、これからの果物の収穫に影響しそうだというニュースがあった。
北アメリカでは、コウモリが大量死しているそうだ。

この記事によれば、コウモリの生息数は bat population というようだ。population は”人口”とばかり思っていたから、はじめ、”こうもり人口”と訳して頭が混乱した。
dog population, cat population, insect population, などなんにでも population をつければよさそうだ。
